What is the difference between Xenon HID lights and Xenon gas-filled bulbs?

HID (High Intensity Discharge) is a type of lighting technology that replaces the filament with a gas which is ignited to form an arc of light. Do not be fooled by companies that offer HID Look-a-Like bulbs - These are just normal halogen bulbs which emit light with a dull white/blue tint. They are no brighter than standard halogen bulbs.
